Born in the 1980s from a vision shared by a passionate family of entrepreneurs, Cardiff was inspired by the extraordinary qualities of cashmere yarn — a fibre that, even then, stood out as the pinnacle of quality and prestige in global textile production. 
 
Every strand of Cardiff cashmere begins its journey in the highlands of Inner Mongolia, where only the finest fibres are sourced from carefully selected farms committed to the highest standards of animal welfare. 
 
From there, the raw cashmere makes its way to the heart of Italy’s prestigious Biella textile district — a place where artisanal skill, innovation and heritage intertwine. Unlike mass production, Cardiff cashmere yarn follows an artisanal approach, ensuring each yarn is not only softer and more durable but also deeply unique, with its own soul and character. 
 
Available in a range of finishes to suit every project – from Classic DK for everyday knits, Small 4ply baby yarn and Large Aran for cosy winter pieces, to Curly for added boucle texture. For a soft, brushed cashmere halo with no itchiness, choose from Prime, Brushlight or Brushmere.
